We are very excited for our opportunity to spread a little love in New York City this upcoming Valentine’s Day, and would like to thank the Times Square Alliance and Van Alen Institute for supporting this competition. We will be working with Brooklyn-based metal fabricator Kammetal to realize our design.

(13 May 2013) We are very happy to announce our selection as a winner of the 2013 Architectural League Prize! We are honored to be recognized with this award, and look forward to participating in the group lecture series, exhibition, and annual catalogue published by Princeton Architectural Press. Young Projects will be lecturing along with speakers from two of the other winning firms on Thursday, 27 June at 7.00p at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, Parsons The New School for Design. The lecture session is free for Architectural League members and $10 for non-members. There will also be an accompanying (free) exhibition of all six winning offices’ work that opens Tuesday, 25 June at 6.00p – we hope you can make it out to see some of our best work!

(13 May 2013) Today kicks off construction on the Westhampton Residence, our first built residential project outside New York City! Construction is scheduled for 2 months, so fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and we hit our date. We are looking forward to seeing this nice little project finished!
(22 March 2013) Young Projects has been nominated for the first annual PXSTL design competition, an innovative public art and design project in St. Louis. PXSTL is a collaboration between The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, and an opportunity for emerging artists and designers to demonstrate how small-scale interventions have large-scale impacts in an urban context. As a result of this competition, one individual, group, or firm will be commissioned to execute plans that activate a vacant lot in the heart of Grand Center, St. Louis’ premiere arts and culture district, during Summer 2014.
